Global warming in brief

Global warming is the one of the most profound threats of our time. From dangerous heat waves and shrinking snowpack to extreme drought and increased wildfires, the dangers of global warming are cause for immediate action.

The good news is that the solutions to reduce global warming pollution are at our fingertips: more energy efficient homes and businesses, cars that go farther on a gallon of gas, and renewable energy like wind, solar and biomass. Plus, these solutions will also reduce our dependence on oil, save consumers money, create jobs, and reduce air pollution.

Take today's e-action

Urge Your Representative to Strengthen and Pass the America Clean Energy and Security Act.

The House of Representatives is slated to consider the American Clean Energy and Security Act (H.R. 2454) during the week of June 22.  The bill establishes a framework for transitioning to a clean energy economy and curbing global warming.  It sets the first-ever federal limit on global warming pollution.

Unfortunately, Big Oil, Dirty Coal, and other polluters have weakened the bill in ways that will delay the economic and environmental benefits of clean energy and could jeopardize our fight against global warming.

Tell your representative you want to strengthen and pass the American Clean Energy and Security Act.
