Senator Capito unveils dirty, dangerous bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to Sen. Shelley Moore Capito’s announcement of her bill attacking EPA’s Clean power Plan, Environment America GlobalWarming Program Director Anna Aurilio issued the following statement:
“ California’s devastating drought has no end in sight. The arctic is melting faster than ever before. Global carbon levels just reached a new milestone on their way to irreversible climate damage. Instead of tackling the problem by shifting to clean renewable energy, Sen. Capito’s dirty and dangerous bill would gut the Clean Power Plan – the largest step the US has taken yet on global warming – in half a dozen ways, including killing the plan altogether.
“This bill is bad for the planet, bad for our future, and bad for our health. Environment America urges senators to reject it immediately.”
