A new report released by Environment California paints a troubling picture: The Pacific is threatened by the persistence of over-fishing, leaving marine ecosystems in danger of decline. The federal government is currently drafting regulations that will impact the next 10 years of fishing practices and fishery management. As a result, a diverse coalition of fishermen, scientists, tourism providers, and environmental groups have joined together to demand new regulations to end overfishing in the Pacific and drastically improve management of our natural resources. The regulations will be released next month.
