Critical races across the country
The 2006 elections changed the political dynamics of the environment in Congress. In the last two years, we’ve seen fewer special interest attacks on environmental protections and more forward-looking proposals.
Unfortunately, we still see real progress blocked—all too often by just a handful of votes. In the Senate, a relatively small group of Republicans blocked clean energy investments and renewable energy standards, the ongoing debate on global warming, and important protections for our nation’s waterways.
