HISTORIC CLEAN CAR STANDARDS FINALIZED

Decades of work by our staff, allies and citizen supporters paid off on August 28, when the Obama administration finalized clean car standards that are the biggest step the U.S. has ever taken to tackle global warming and get off oil.  Here Environment America's Nathan Willcox thanks President Obama for his leadership on this issue.

Bill introduced to ban plastic bags in Rhode Island

A bill to ban plastic checkout bags statewide was introduced in the Rhode Island House of Representatives. The bill prohibits the distribution of disposable plastic shopping bags at the point of sale by Rhode Island retailers, effective January 2014 for large retailers and January 2015 for small businesses.
