Protect the Great Lakes from Sewage Pollution

With the region’s water infrastructure in disrepair, billions of gallons of sewage pollution enter the Great Lakes each year. We have a chance to change all that, starting today.

Please take a minute to urge your Representative to support H.R. 1262 – a bill that would reauthorize the Clean Water State Revolving Fund – including an amendment to require 20 percent of such funds to be used for green infrastructure projects that prevent sewage overflows.

Letter * Dear Representative_____________ To address the sewage pollution plaguing our Great Lakes, I am writing to urge you to support H.R. 1262, which reauthorizes the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). It’s going to take billions of dollars to curb the billions of gallons of sewage that are dumped into the Great Lakes every year. We need reauthorize the Clean Water SRF – and make sure that at least 20 percent of the funds are used for green infrastructure - so we can fund the projects that will clean up this mess – and restore economic and ecological lifeblood of the region.
