Pass the right energy bill 

Dear member of Congress:

Congress should be applauded for taking the first steps toward a New Energy Future in 2007 by passing an energy bill that will save oil by ensuring fuel economy standards increase to 35 mpg by 2020.

But more needs to be done to fully harness clean, homegrown energy from the sun, wind, crops and more. Wind turbines and solar panels can supply power to millions of homes and businesses.

That is why I urge you to support legislation that will requires utilities generate at least 20 percent of America's electricity from renewable energy sources by 2020 and extend clean energy tax incentives that will help American families and businesses make the switch to renewable energy.
