Urge Your Representative to Support Strong Global Warming Legislation

Time is running out to stop the worst effects of global warming, and only bold and decisive action will protect our environment, economy, and future generations of Americans.

Representatives Henry Waxman (Calif.), Ed Markey (Mass.), and Jay Inslee (Wash.), three senior members of the House Energy & Commerce Committee and long-time environmental leaders, are asking their colleagues in the U.S. House to endorse a “statement of principles” for strong, fair, and effective global warming legislation.  The principles call for reducing emissions as quickly as the science says is necessary, holding polluters accountable, and investing in the transition to a clean energy economy.  The principles, which are available here, will be sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and will help lay the groundwork for strong action on global warming in Congress.
